1. PROGRAMME DURATION AND WORKING HOURS
- This is a full time regular diploma programme of three years comprising of 6 semesters.
- Each semester shall be of 16 weeks duration and minimum 36 contact hours per week per student.
2. Attendance
- Students should have a minimum of 75% attendance in each course of the respective semester.
- A student will not be allowed to appear in the End Semester Examination if he/she does not come up to the required attendance for the individual courses.
3. Uniform
- The institution follows a compulsory uniform rule, wherein students have to follow the norms.
- Student will be debarred from the class if he/she is without proper uniform.
4. Condonation of attendance
- If the attendance of the candidate falls below 75%, but not less than 60% on account of illness, he/she will have to submit a medical certificate from a govt. authorized medical practitioner with prescription slip, vouchers/cash memo of the medicines within one week of the completion of treatment for consideration of condonation of attendance on medical ground.
5. Progressive Assesment (PA)
- In a semester, a student should obtain 40% marks in the PA in addition to the attendance criteria.
- The PA marks shall consists of:
- Three class tests. The average marks of two best scoring class test will be considered for assessment of 40% of PA marks.
- Assignments carry 40% of PA marks.
- Overall performance of the student will have a weightage of 20% of PA marks.
- The use of Assignment copy and Class Test copy is mandatory and is available in the Academic Section.
- The PA (Practical) marks shall consist of:
- Practical Record : 40% of total marks
- Experiment Performance : 40% of total marks
- Class Performance : 20% of total marks
6. Lateral Entry (ITI Passed)
- From the academic session 2015-16, a new syllabus had been implemented, designed by NITTTR, Kolkata. This is to be undertaken by the lateral entrants as an Audit Course. This audit course comprises of two subjects namely Basic Science-I and Basic Science-II, having 3 Credits each to be studied in the 3rd and 4th Semester respectively. Each paper carrying 100 marks each.
7. Change in Programme
- A student can opt to change the Programme/Branch in case of any vacancy in the 3rd Semester, provided the courses of first and second semester are the same for both the branches.
